I have one of her songs done for Kurama, but I've
never watched Yu Yu Hakusho. Here's the first part of
the fic. Thanks.
Disclaimer: Yu-Gi-Oh is not mine but the plot and idea
is.
AN: This fic is a slight AU. It uses the counter parts
of Yami and Seto from the PS2 game, 'Yu-Gi-Oh Shin
DM2'. I added a couple others from the Yu-Gi-Oh cast
as well. I thought it would be more interesting that
way and it flows with my idea easily. I will easily
know someone used the idea of this type of AU from my
fic because of the fact, very few people who post here
are aware of the game.
This fic is Yaoi. Be aware that the rating will go up
in later chapters.
War of the Roses
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yugi reached over Yami's shoulder to his back and
tightened the black leather strap around his brother's
chest, fastening the complex weave of laces and ties
to the large gold ring which rested upon his brother's
breast. Quickly he dusted off the gleaming suit of
tight ebony leather and silver that his elder brother
wore. He pulled the long cloak around Yami's shoulders
and clasped the ends with a red rose brooch just above
his brother's collarbone. Smiling proudly, Yugi
brought forth his brother's sword presenting it to
Yami by the silver hilt that was given to him on his
sixteenth birthday just a couple years ago.
Taking his the familiar grip of his sword in his hand,
Yami lifted the blade close and examined the smooth,
deadly weapon. He smirked as the metal reflected his
image on its flawless surface and sheathed it into the
scabbard before turning to his younger sibling.
"Thank you little brother, for helping me prepare." He
smiled and ruffled the scruffy, spiked hair of his
only sibling. Yugi gave a soft laugh and hugged him.
"Why must you duel, brother? Why must we fight the
Lancasters?" He questioned as he always did whenever
Yami embarked on a Duel. As always Yami sighed and
hugged the smaller boy, giving his usual reply,
"It has always been this way, Yugi. Tudors and
Lancasters are sworn enemies. That is how it shall be
till the end."
"But why?"
"I don't know, but father says we can never be on
agreeing terms with that family."
"Why?" Chuckling, Yami ruffled his brother's hair
again, giving him a fond smile. Yugi was only a few
years younger than Yami and though he was a teenager,
the bright lad had never outgrown his child's sense of
curiosity.
"Why, why, why, why! So many questions, little Yugi!
But I have to go, else I shall be tardy for the Duel.
I promise you I'll answer your inquires when I return.
Alright?" With a nod and another quick loving embrace,
Yami left to the stables making his way through the
many stalls to the one, which housed his mare. He held
his hand out towards the creature and she leaned her
muzzle into his palm as the stable boy saddled her.
Swiftly, Yami swung himself onto the horse's back and
sped off to the appointed location for the Duel.

Yugi watched as his brother left to fight against the
rival of their namesake, turning away from the window
when the black mare rode out of sight. Hurriedly, Yugi
pulled on his cloak and ran to his own horse, riding
him down the back roads to a forest not too far away
from the city borders. Climbing off the chocolate
pony, Yugi led the animal to a tree and tied him down
before making his way through the shaded forest path.
He smiled as he found himself in a familiar clearing,
standing among a field of clover was someone who he
had secretly snuck out to meet.
"Katsuya!" He cried out excitedly as he ran towards
the blonde man whom was dressed in clothes, which
defined his nobility. Yugi all but leapt into his arms
and laughed happily as strong arms swung him around
before being taken into an endearing hug. He was
released when his lungs screamed for air but he
remained in the other's arms, nuzzling the soft
material of Katsuya's laced shirt.
Katsuya Jounouchi Lancaster, second son of the
Lancaster house smiled, his soft brown eyes admiring
the beaming face of the angel in his arms. He ran his
fingers through the silky, multicoloured locks of
Yugi's hair, brushing the golden bangs out of the
bright, innocent face.
"Hey, Yugi. I missed you too, buddy... How have you
been?"
"Just fine.. what about you?" Katsuya smiled as he led
his companion to the edge of the clearing where his
own horse was tied.
"Business as usual. Nothing new." Yugi settled down
next to Katsuya, propping his head on his leg and he
sprawled out on the grass, watching the clouds drift
lazily across the sky as he pondered various thoughts
in his head.
"Katsuya... why do our families feud? Why do they
always duel? I see no point to it at all." He felt the
other sigh and a gentle hand pet his hair as his
friend answered him.
"They feud over a little misunderstanding which
happened years ago, Yugi. A man from both our families
fell in love with the same girl. She chose one over
the other and therefore the other invoked a blood war
between the families. The Duels are how we fight. I
find it sad that our brothers are such bitter rivals
over something that had nothing to do with them save
the fact of their family name." Yugi pulled Katsuya's
hand, which was nestled in his hair down to his lips,
pressing a kiss to the palm,
"Is that why we have to keep us a secret?" Callused
fingers caressed his cheek and he leaned more into the
warm hand.
"Yes, Yugi. If our families found out... they'll be
even more furious with each other."
"It's not fair.." Yugi pouted, kissing the hand again,
"I want to go to the fair with you."
A small chuckle came from the Lancaster son as he
pulled the boy into his lap, nuzzling his hair,
"Well... I'm sure we'll figure out a way to go
together. I'll win you a toy from the games too."
Yugi beamed his ever-bright smile up at Katsuya, "I'll
treasure it. Keep it beside my pillow."
"Hug it when you sleep?" Katsuya smiled, pressing a
gentle kiss to his lover's hair as Yugi giggled,
"Every night, when I dream about you."
*********
Seto climbed off his white stallion as he arrived in
the designated place for his Duel with the first son
of the Tudor estate. His blue eyes narrowed as he
watched the black mare of Yami Tudor approach and her
rider descend from the saddle.
"Lancaster..." Yami's deep voice all but spat as he
glared at his rival. The taller boy was dressed in
silver armour adorned with a dragon's head on his left
shoulder that signified his title as one of the best
swordsmen of England. Still he, Christian Seto
Lancaster, first son of the Lancaster house was never
able to defeat his ever rival of name and skill. He
was determined to claim a Duel for the Lancaster name
against Yami Tudor. He was determined to defeat him.
The soul piercing glare never left Seto's features as
his ocean blue eyes studied his opponent. The black
leather clung to Yami's body like a second skin,
melding his to his body's shape each time he moved.
Seto couldn't help but wonder why he felt so warm when
Yami shrugged his cloak off, revealing his shoulders
and bare arms as he tossed it to the side.
Yami felt himself shudder inwardly at the glare he
received from his rival. He could feel those icy orbs
tear into him. Such spirit in his opponent brought out
the best of Yami's skill, every duel they've had was
always better than the last.
Crimson and cobalt eyes locked as they both drew their
weapons, and as they advanced towards the other, the
heat in their gazes intensified. Seto was the first to
strike, raising his sword to attack Yami whom in turn
used his blade to block. They clashed, blow after
blow, and strike after strike, neither of them gaining
the upper hand as they fought.
Yami was surprised, this was the first time their
duels had lasted this long. By now he would have
claimed victory and would be on his way home. But this
time the duel went on, Seto was fighting with more
skill than Yami had seen before. His movements were
swift and Yami had barely any time to prepare as they
were so sudden. He couldn't help watching Seto's face,
the determination etched into him was amazing as if
the man had found a new cause.
Seto dodged as Yami's sword and swung to the left.
Raising his own blade he knocked Yami's weapon out of
his hand with his hilt and it fell to the ground just
out of Yami's reach. Quickly he pressed the steel
blade of his sword to Yami's neck. Seto smirked as
Yami's red eyes grew wide. He had just been defeated
by his life long rival and was now at his mercy. All
times before when he defeated Seto, Yami had merely
let him go with the shame of loss. But now, as this
time Seto was the Victor, Yami was unsure and slightly
afraid of what was going to happen. Seto could kill
him and there would be nothing he could do. He knew he
could die today. Yami held his breath as Seto leaned
forward, the cold fire in those deep blue eyes burned
deep into him and he found himself lost.
Blood red eyes kept their gaze upon Seto's face,
awaiting their fate as Seto stared down at Yami. He
was keeping the smaller trapped by the blade at his
slender neck and his arm around the leather hugged
waist. Seto felt something burn inside of him as he
saw the hidden fear in those ruby hued eyes, beads of
sweat shining on the tanned skin of Yami's brow. He
leaned even closer till he could smell the faint scent
of peppermint on Yami's warm breath as it caressed his
cheek.
"What...." Yami froze, his body stiffening as his
enemy's blue eyes fell shut and claimed his mouth in a
soul-searing kiss.
