Greetings! Welcome to the final performance of "Turning Point" here at the Angst-with-Lemon Theatre!

{bows exhaustedly, he *really* pushed himself to get this finished tonight, but it just seemed as if this was overdue despite everything else}

First and foremost, my deepest apologies to those of you who were expecting to get to read the conclusion of this story much sooner. In all honesty, I thought you would have, too, but Real Life and something called the Public School System had other plans. Our school year here ends on May 29 and with lovely chibi-girls in both 7th *and* 9th grades, this single parent has been running himself ragged trying to help with projects, quizzing the ladies on subjects for finals, attending performances and concerts for various fine arts classes, volunteer-teaching for some career day stuff, and more! Successfully surviving these rigors, of course, has wonderful rewards and knowing that they are both finishing with flying colors that will be reflected in fabulous report cards and big, confident smiles are easily the best "thank you" gifts I could hope to receive.

Second, I owe quite a few people notes yet again and for that, too, I apologize. I don't expect to have any free time at all until the kids are done with school, though, so please be patient with me a little longer. Thanks!

Last and never least, there's a *ton* of Author's Notes at the end of the story which talk about plans for future fics and other things of possible interest to the audience here at the playhouse. I sincerely hope people will give me some input on what is written there since it just might give me an excuse to start "borrowing" clothes from another set of assassins' wardrobes before too awfully long!

{winks at Yanagi, wonders if he'd look dashing in a white Armani suit as he slips on a dark leather biker jacket and then smirks and ties a god-awful orange sweater around his waist before lighting the marquee and handing you a playbill with a boyish grin}

This evening's super-sized sensual symphony of satisfied bishounen starts pianissimo and crescendos several times! The scene opens the day after Chihaya's disastrous departure from the penthouse as Messiah waits, watches, and worries while the others sleep. Happily, there's a series of awakenings experienced not only by himself but also by the two angels and before long, the evening gains a new melody altogether. As the scene shifts to the bedroom, a number of sensual discoveries are made by the angelic threesome as they move together towards the ultimate expression of their new commitment to a life together. The final portion of our 3-act performance for this evening is a veritable chorus of pleasure as the trio fully shares joyous new beginnings of what will hopefully lead them to become a truly healthy as well as happy ménage à trois.

{bows deeply, hopeful that you will find this lusciously lemony posting run to be a worthwhile payoff for going through all that earlier angst and bloodletting, then yawns tiredly and adds one last notation before sending you on your way to enjoy the climax of our story}

Once again I wish to thank the many fine readers who have taken the time to let me know what they think of this piece. The reviews at fanfiction.net are mind-bogglingly wonderful and I appreciate each and every one of them! Emeryl at the Earthians ML posted comments for both earlier posting runs and it's nice to know it's being enjoyed by someone there. I've heard nothing on-list at animeadult ML, but I'll assume the four people who voted for this to be posted there are enjoying it all the same. As for my private correspondents, you know who you are and I thank you, too, not only for reading and responding but also for being so terribly patient with me.

Now, without further ado, allow me to change the sign-off line here to reflect the drastically reduced quantity of angst in this evening's offering while simultaneously celebrating the arrival of what so many of you have eagerly awaited!

Enjoy the Three-way Lemon!

(who is absolutely bone-tired, emotionally weary, and a bunch of other stuff which all equate to being *very* glad school ends soon! it's not just the students who suffer this time of year, it's the concerned parents, too, but the llama wouldn't do it any other way! Oh, and since this fic is dedicated to a teacher, allow me to mention that many of those hard-working souls are feeling pretty ragged right about now, too. so if you see one, give them a hug and let them know you appreciate their diligence and hope they enjoy their summer break, too!)

Notes: Can a violent turning point in the lives of Kagetsuya, Chihaya, and Messiah help them find a way to blend two couples into a trio while they still have the chance?

*****

Roughly thirty hours after helping to rescue Chihaya and stopping three vicious men from killing a group of innocent people, the biohumanoid-angel composite named Messiah found himself growing restless after being alone with his thoughts for too long.

After pacing through the penthouse in a fruitless search for something constructive to do, the forest-green-haired being came to a stop at the open door to the bedroom he shared with the angels that he had lived with for the last four months. Atypically sorrowful amber eyes gazed at the pair of slumbering figures in the king-size bed where they had lain since Kagetsuya had overextended himself in his efforts to heal their smaller lover.

Shaking his head slightly at the memory, Messiah recalled the way Kagetsuya had labored against his own growing exhaustion to exert his inexplicable abilities to penetrate deep into Chihaya's body repairing damaged organs and bones despite the injured youth's tearful pleadings for him to stop. The color had drained from the blonde's face and his voice was hollow as he refused to quit and went so far as to ask the synthetic angel to help keep their equally exhausted violet-eyed partner still so he could finish.

Without hesitation or questioning the fact that he was following instructions from the blond again, Messiah had done just that.

Even though the smaller angel tiredly wept and begged them both to cease, Messiah positioned himself so that he sat on the bed with Chihaya in his lap and gently restrained the boxer-clad youth so that Kagetsuya could use his energy strictly for healing and not fighting with him. As the green-eyed angel somehow reached deep within himself for the power to reconstruct the last of the damaged tissue with a restorative kiss, the amber-eyed man felt his petite lover stop struggling and he knew Chihaya had finally given in to his body's overwhelming need for rest.

Panting and pale, Kagetsuya had rested his cheek against the slender chest of his young partner and gazed up apologetically at the taller of the two dark-haired beings for only a moment before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he toppled over onto the bed unconscious.

At that moment, Messiah had been unexpectedly confronted with a new set of feelings and thoughts he'd not experienced before and they gave him a great deal to consider.

As he carefully dressed Chihaya's insensate form in a pair of loose-fitting pajamas in the hopes he might be more comfortable as he slept off the aftereffects of his injuries, the amber-eyed man found himself reflecting on the other silent figure laying nearby. After reawakening the racial memory locked within his own genetic structure, Messiah had begun to reassess virtually all of his opinions of the powerful angel who had previously been nothing more than a rival or worse.

The muscular blonde's bravery and skill in combat hadn't surprised him since Chihaya had commented on it many times in the past, but it had still impressed him all the same especially since he didn't have the advantages Messiah himself did thanks to his creator's warped skill. It also made a huge impact on him that Kagetsuya had violated his own commandments against flying in broad daylight when they had become aware of the danger the smaller angel faced. Yet the one thing that amazed him most about his new perspective on the other being was the selflessness the white-winged angel had shown time and time again towards their violet-eyed partner, something Messiah had been loathe to acknowledge previously.

As he gently placed the pajama-clad figure of his diminutive lover beneath the covers, Messiah retroactively realized that the blond angel had deferred to Chihaya repeatedly regarding himself from the very beginning of their lives together. After placing a tender kiss to the sleeping youth's slightly parted lips, he straightened and stood gazing at the motionless figure of Kagetsuya whose breathing was somewhat labored and his skin lifeless and drawn.

Without realizing what was motivating him to do so, the amber-eyed man had then set himself to the task of removing the blood-stained clothing from the unconscious angel who had refused to take the time after their return to change insisting instead on healing Chihaya's agonizing wounds. Messiah carefully stripped Kagetsuya completely bare and surprised himself by being angered by the sight of a large, painful-looking bruise on the blonde's leg from where he had crushed Gorilla's throat during the battle that morning. His efforts to quantify this odd sensation distracted him enough that when another new thought entered his awareness he didn't disregard it entirely as he might have otherwise.

As he began to gently pull soft cotton pajama pants into place on the naked angel, Messiah found himself realizing that Kagetsuya was actually a very beautiful though unquestionably masculine creature.

There was none of the softness of their delicate partner present in the lean lines of the blonde's body. The white-winged angel was all angles and planes of muscle honed to perfection by an ongoing dedication to the martial arts he had used so effectively earlier in the day. Though neither of them were sexually aroused at the time, it was clear to the amber-eyed man that Kagetsuya had been given a substantial natural gift in the form of the ample quiescent shaft that rested in a thicket of golden curls at the juncture of well muscled thighs. Beneath the plentiful organ rested a generous velvety sac which hung in such a fashion as to leave what was farther down cloaked in shadow yet not left unconsidered.

Above these somewhat distracting pieces of anatomy lay perfect washboard abs and chiseled pectoral muscles which displayed a pair of dusky pink nipples that Messiah had never taken note of previously. Ultimately, though, what had struck him hardest was that even in his currently exhausted and wan state, Kagetsuya's face held a nobility and regal beauty that the forest-green-haired being had never admitted to finding attractive since their warfare over their shared lover outshone all else.

Sighing deeply as he silently cursed their mutual past pigheadedness, Messiah resumed his efforts to dress Kagetsuya more appropriately and soon had the unconscious angel comfortably ensconced beside Chihaya who was too deeply asleep to even react to his presence.

After gathering up the two angels' blood-stained clothing, the amber-eyed being had left the room intending to change his own clothes and then destroy the garments that now held such unpleasant memories for all of them. Not being susceptible to the all too human need to burn that which displeases someone the most, Messiah had simply utilized his enhanced abilities to render the clothing into such tiny fragments of thread, buttons, and zippers that no one short of a forensic miracle-worker could have identified them. Their gore-spattered shoes met a similar fate as did everything else which might have been physical evidence against them in light of the fact that they had brutally killed three people, a legal issue that Messiah could not have cared less about. For him, this was an exercise in protection hoping that by eliminating the tangible proof of what they had been through he might spare Chihaya from some of the understandably painful memories he would carry for the rest of his life from that day's events.

The cleansing destruction had been completed at two the previous afternoon and it was now after six in the evening and if he was honest about it, Messiah would have been forced to admit he was lonely for and worried about the two slumbering angels who he stood watch over.

After having recalled the intricate details of the preceding day, the amber-eyed being felt a sense of relief when he noted that not only was Kagetsuya's coloring better now, he had apparently slipped from unconsciousness into natural sleep at some point. Chihaya was also doing somewhat better in that the violet-eyed youth had gravitated towards the large, warm presence in his bed and was currently curled against the blond angel with his ebony-haired head resting on his first lover's shoulder.

But to a being whose life was less than a year old and whose knowledge was predominantly that which his insane designer saw fit to give him combined with what the two angels he now lived with had taught him, these improvements simply weren't enough. The loneliness and concern grew to be too much for him. With a deep sigh, Messiah turned and quietly left the slumbering pair behind unable to stay there alone with his dark thoughts a moment longer.

As light from the hallway spilled once more onto the bed, though, an eye the shade of the darkest of lilacs slowly fluttered open and was soon joined by one the color of sea mist. Wordlessly the newly awakened pair greeted one another tenderly before equally silently sharing a thought of concern regarding the vacant side of their bed.

"How much of this is my fault?" Messiah asked himself as he stepped onto the balcony to watch as the rush hour traffic crawled past at a snail's pace on the streets below. He knew this was an unhelpful thought and that if Chihaya had heard him he would most likely have been gently reprimanded for it. Yet as long as he was on his own and facing so many new emotions and realizations, the evolving soul would continue to flounder.

Running a hand tiredly through dark green hair that fell lightly to his shoulders, the synthetic angel snorted softly to himself and added, "I would be wise to follow their example and rest if I am beginning to speak aloud to myself. Yet until I hear Chihaya's voice once more softly calling my name or even Kagetsuya's complaining that I have accomplished little of benefit to us all as they recuperated, I find that sleep eludes me."

Messiah sighed again more deeply and was about to make another useless tour of the penthouse in search of something that needed doing when he heard a quiet noise and turned to find a pair of pajama-clad men regarding him with mildly confused expressions on their handsome faces.

A tentative smile grew on the synthetic angel's face and he turned towards the new arrivals as he asked, "How do you both feel?"

Chihaya smiled sweetly at him and moved away from Kagetsuya's protective presence so that he could wrap his arms around his second lover, hugging him warmly with his arms tightly around the taller man's waist as he sighed simply, "Oh, Messiah."

The petite angel happily pressed his previously torn cheek against the amber-eyed being's soft cotton button-down shirt, nuzzling his chest tenderly and enjoying the faint yet unique scent of the forest-green-haired being's body. It was a rarity that he stopped to notice that he didn't have the same deep, musky aroma that Kagetsuya did or how pale the synthetic angel's skin always was, but at that moment, Chihaya was overwhelmed by feelings of joy that Messiah was exactly who and what he was.

The muscular blond stepped forward, too, but didn't join in the embrace as the taller of the two dark-haired men wrapped his arms warmly around the smaller one, cradling Chihaya warmly against himself. Instead, Kagetsuya cocked his head to one side quizzically and commented, "I'd say we're both in remarkably good condition after such a short recovery time, Messiah."

The amber-eyed man regarded him with slight consternation and asked, "How so, Kagetsuya? I was totally unfamiliar with your ability to heal someone and have no inkling of the consequences of its use."

Shrugging as the confusion increased, the green-eyed angel glanced at the sun riding low in the sky and added, "I would've estimated it would be at least twelve hours before I came around again considering the severity of Chihaya's injuries, but I guess I shouldn't complain."

"That's true," the petite ebony-haired youth agreed easily and snuggled his face deeper still in Messiah's strong chest, reveling in the sound of the synthetic angel's heartbeat.

With one thin eyebrow raised in bafflement, Messiah commented, "I fear that you have misjudged the time, Kagetsuya. Roughly twenty-nine hours have elapsed since you completed your treatment of Chihaya's wounds." Gesturing towards the imminent sunset he explained, "The incident at the bank was yesterday."

"Really?!" Chihaya exclaimed in surprise, lifting his head from its cozy spot and turning towards the blond to ask urgently, "What does it mean if it took you more than twice the amount of time to recover than you expected, Kagetsuya?"

The stunned expression on the eldest angel's face spoke volumes and before he could answer, Messiah took it upon himself to interject with concern of his own, "Indeed, Kagetsuya, it was most disconcerting to observe the effect that phenomenon had upon you. I had feared for your own health for much of the night."

Scratching at the back of his head with an uncharacteristic sense of embarrassment that failed to overshadow how delightful it was to hear them both sounding so worried about him, Kagetsuya responded uncertainly, "Um, well, I guess I *did* push myself to the limit after all." Recollection of the role he had required of the amber-eyed man flooded him and the brief moment of chagrin vanished as it was replaced with honest gratitude and he stepped forward, hand outstretched as he added, "But I didn't go *past* the limit thanks to you, Messiah. If I'd tried to fly Chihaya home yesterday and then tried to take care of him alone, I never would've made it. Thank you."

Even as he beamed brightly at both of his lovers and slid to one side so that the others could shake hands, the petite angel commented, "See, Kagetsuya? It really *is* a good thing that the three of us remained together!" He looked a little confused as he added, "What I don't understand is what made you two stop fighting and start working together the way you did in the bank, though. I mean, I'm really *glad* that you did, of course, but I only vaguely remember what happened yesterday, it's all pretty fuzzy after that terrible man started hitting me." Chihaya trembled visibly in fearful memory of the horror he'd experienced the previous day and soon discovered he had an arm around his waist and another around his shoulders as both of his lovers embraced him.

The two taller beings gazed at the smaller one that had drawn them together and it was Kagetsuya who answered, saying quietly, "Luckily for me, Chihaya, I don't live with only one intelligent man." The blond angel looked at Messiah for a moment, then lifted a hand and tentatively brushed a lock of dark green hair out of amber eyes very much needing to see what the slightly shorter man thought of what he was about to say next. In a tone filled with regret for time wasted and love almost lost, he explained, "When you flew away, all I could think to do was go after you and force you to return whether you wanted to or not. But Messiah realized there was more to the situation than met the eye and he convinced me you needed time to think. As it turned out, he and I needed time, too."

He paused and turned to more fully face the synthetic angel who regarded him with an openness and what seemed to Chihaya to be a vulnerability he couldn't recall seeing in Messiah's eyes since the time that the angel created to destroy disobeyed his maker and fell into the sea. After nervously wetting his lips with his tongue, Kagetsuya admitted to what he himself viewed as unforgivable weakness, saying, "I was afraid that on some level Messiah had known the truth all along and that you loved him more than me. I was terrified that someday I'd wake up and find my bed empty and cold after you realized your mistake of tolerating me for as long as you had and simply left me behind." Unable to withstand either the amber or the lavender gazes he was receiving, he looked away and added, "I tried to convince myself that as long as the sex was good between us, Chihaya, everything would be okay. For awhile, I even hoped that sooner or later, Messiah would give up and go away but then I realized he wasn't leaving unless you were, too. I was wrong for putting you both through hell the way that I did and I'm sorry."

Uncertain what exactly was occurring yet knowing without a doubt that his taller companion was suffering, Messiah reached out and cautiously ran a finger across Kagetsuya's cheek hopeful that his action would no more be rejected than the blonde's tentative touch to his own had been. When shocked yet somewhat hopeful green eyes rose once more and silently asked the question that lingered between them, the amber-eyed being answered, "The time for regrets has passed, Kagetsuya. Neither of us conducted ourselves as we should have and unless Chihaya wishes for us to remain rivals, I believe now is the time for us to set that aside and move on." Seeing the look of hope growing on the elder angel's face, he added in a promising tone, "I further believe that we are also quite overdue for the one thing that has been used to seal such an agreement since time immemorial according to my databanks."

Understanding grew on the blonde's handsome face and there was nothing more said by either as Kagetsuya lifted his hand once more and used it to cup Messiah's chin before drawing the dark-haired synthetic angel forward and into the first kiss the pair ever shared.

Still warmly wrapped in the arms of the two taller angelic beings, Chihaya found himself awestruck as Messiah's eyes shut halfway in pleasure. The dark-haired man's sensual lips parted softly in response to the tip of Kagetsuya's tongue which did not demand entrance so much as simply wished to gather a brief taste of him.

To make the moment all the more unbelievable for the smallest angel, the balance of power then seemed to change effortlessly as Kagetsuya very deliberately shifted positions and became the more apparently submissive one tilting his head and allowing his jaw to hang open ever so slightly in invitation. Messiah accepted the unspoken offer without hesitation and became only slightly more aggressive as he sought and discovered the taste of someone who had become more important to him than he had ever believed possible following a crisis that threatened them all.

Gazing up at the two men as their kiss ended and they turned their slightly flushed faces towards him, Chihaya felt pinpricks of heat in the backs of his eyes and it was all he could do to keep from sobbing aloud, he was so happy. Luminous dark lavender eyes filled with tears which then slipped down satiny cheeks soundlessly as both of his lovers bent their heads in turn, kissing him passionately and sharing the flavors of all three in varying combinations.
